About Perry County Memorial Hospital
Perry County Memorial Hospital (colloquially known as PCMH) is a world-class, patient-focused healthcare provider whose existence thrives on quality care close to home. Since 1951, PCMH has zeroed in on the little things that make a big difference. From the smiling faces of the staff to their dedication to community values, they strive to personify their motto, “People Care More Here.”
But they don’t stop there. PCMH’s care ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics, home health to emergency services, all to provide the community what it needs for a healthier tomorrow. Their testimonials are almost formulaic, “Not only was my doc amazing at their job, but they were amazing at being present.
PCMH + Creative Edge
There are a few famous duos that will forever beat the test of time – we like to think PCMH and Creative Edge are one of them. When our partnership began it was clear that PCMH’s passion and drive was the exact seed we needed to promote growth. We just needed to add water (assuming you view world-class video, digital strategy, and content creation as water….which we do.)
We simply needed to show the world why PCMH’s size made it the hidden gem of Southeast Missouri – the metaphoric needle in the haystack (assuming you view the competing hospital as hay and you really need a needle).
How Do You Show Off the Needle?
This is a common question that keeps marketing professionals up at night. Some may conclude that you should put it on a doorstep and hope it’s noticed. Others say that you could tape a picture of it to every bathroom mirror from here to St. Louis. But for our money, we’d put it into a sewing kit – exactly where you need it when you need it.
So what does that needle look like? Content. And what is the best form of content? Video.
This is why our video team is the icing on the cake of Creative Edge. Without the icing, you’ve just got a wet sponge (that’s a bad bake Mary!). Their years of experience and constant drive to do “what’s new” automatically put our clients on the front lines of marketing.
For PCMH, we wanted our audience to know what we know – that PCMH is the only option for genuine, quality care in the Heartland. That is why we focused our efforts on showcasing the REAL docs and the REAL patients, their REAL stories, and the REAL outcomes.

But I’m sure you’re just dying to know, “How do you put it in the sewing kit?!” Don’t worry, we won’t hold you in suspense any longer. It’s all done with the help of our digital strategy team. With their help and the help of our amazing content creators, we are able to target ads across the entire internet to your exact audience. Similar to the monster in “It Follows” but not that slow and WAY less scary.
That is what we did for PCMH. We created engaging video campaigns to funnel audiences, we utilized eye-catching and educational ebooks to make PCMH top of mind, and we ensured that each piece of content highlighted why PCMH was an essential part of the community.
And now for the best part, the results. The time frame of these results spans February 2019 to the end of the year (this does not reflect the span of the partnership). In that time, Creative Edge tracked success through historic patient count differentiation, tracked phone calls, and direct appointment bookings. The main highlight of these results was, that at the start of December 2019, Dr. Bryne was entirely booked through early April 2020. This was a feat previously unachieved by Perry County Memorial Hospital in the past.
The results breakdown is as follows:
- Creative Edge generated 364 phone calls from leads searching keywords directly related to their services.
- Perry County Memorial Hospital had a 33% increase in new patients in May and June of 2019 in comparison to 2018.
- New patient geographic spread included counties that had not utilized PCMH’s services in the past.
- (again) At the start of December 2019, Dr. Bryne was entirely booked through early April 2020. This was a feat previously unachieved by Perry County Memorial Hospital.
